Supetar

The history of a charming little town Supetar reaches back to the 6th century, when it held the name Nerezisce. Remains of an early Christian mosaic, once decorating the floor of the Sv. Petar basilica, still stand by the 18th century church, built on the basilica's foundations. Museum of sacral arts is located next to the church, exhibiting a large collection of paintings, books and documents related to the town and region. Famous Croatian sculptor, Ivan Rendic, spent last years of his life in Supetar. During daytime, you can enjoy many water sport activities around Supetar, while in the evenings, numerous bars and restaurants offer the very best of Dalmatian cuisine dishes and wines.
