Korcula

Turbulent history left its mark on the city of Korcula. City was shaped from the ancient blueprints as a fishbone, so the main street is protected from the wind, and was fortified with high walls and towers. There are two entereances to the old city which holds nine churches in its core. Sv. Marko cathedral, built in the 13th - 16th century period is one of the most significant monuments of culture, and the infulence of the Venetians can be seen all over the city in a form of lion sculptures decorating houses and garden walls. Korcula offers a vivid nightlife with many bars and clubs attracting people from all over the island to have fun.
