Named after laurel, Lovran is a city of long and very rich history, holding over a century long tradition of elite and health tourism.
Attracting visitors from all over the world are Sv. Juraj church, built in the 12th century featuring 15th century gothic style arch, Romanesse chruch of Sv. Trojstvo by the sea and the massive city tower, standing on the archway to Sv. Juraj square. By the Lovran promenade you can see the most beautiful and luxurious villas, with Villa Astra and Villa Denes being the most attractive from the venetian gotchic period.
