Senj
Overlooking the city of Senj, is a famous Nehaj fort. 18m tall and 23m wide, its walls follow the directions of the earth and are made out of remains of old churches, monasteries and houses. Built by Uskoks in 1558, the fort is famous for not being overtaken while under their command and stands as the proud symbol of Senj ever since. Sight from the fort is stunning, you can see the islands Rab, Goli otok, Cres, Krk, mountains of Gorski kotar, Ucka and Velebit. The fort is now run by City museum and owns an admirable historic collections of Uskoks and church of Senj. Senj is also a home to the infamous "Senjska" bura, a strong northeastern wind, which blows in Senj area most frequently.
