Island of Ciovo
Connected with the mainland by two bridges, Ciovo is an island of over 6,000 people inhabiting mostly the villages Okrug Donji, Okrug Gornji, Arbanija, Slatine, Zedno and homonymus Ciovo. Rocky island is a home to several caves, with Bilosaj and Anicina jama being the most famous. Sladun bay, on the west side of the island contains many pebble and sandy beaches and is one of the favorite visiting places of the island. Further to south there are islets of Sv. Fumija, Kraljevac and Galerija which attract many spearfishermen with their exceptionally rich coast and marine life. Ciovo holds many interesting historic and cultural sites, too. Medieval church Sv. Mavra in Zedno, pre-romanesse churches in Ciovo and Slatina are just some of the reminders of the island's past.
