Island of Hvar
Famous world wide for its stunning nature, Hvar is one of the top European holiday destinations. Declared one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world, Hvar holds a lot more than meets the eye at first. It is the sunniest island in whole of Europe! The oldest public theatre in Europe is the one in town of Hvar and the largest naval battle of the Roman empire took place in the vicintiy of the island in the year 47 BC. Many vineyards of indigenous grapes are grown on the island and the purple fields of lavander fill the air with charming scent occasionally blending with a touch of wild grown rosemary, simply lovely! Locals sell handpacked lavander and Kraljicina vodica, a rosemary bud distillate, by the roads and in towns of the island. Countless beaches by the crystal clear sea, shaded by pines are the main attraction of the island and leave nobody indifferent!
