Island of Krk
Since the anicient times, the uniqueness of the island Krk was highly admired, and has gotten it the name "Golden island".

One of the biggest in Croatia, the island has 14 blue flagged beaches and, fascinatingly, is a home to almost half of the total flora in Croaita! On Krk, Klimno beach is famous for medical properties of its muddy shallow bottom. Northern part of the island is also a home to the large orintological reserve, homing the endangered griffon vulture among many other bird species.
