Island of Olib
Olib is a peaceful little island, only 74m tall. It is well known for stunning sandy beaches Banjve, where remains of an ancient Roman settlement were found, and Slatnica, the most beautiful sandy beach on the island. Village Olib, the only settlement on Olib island, is believed to have been settled by the Lyburns in antique ages. Many graves and tumulus from the period at Sambora and Pasja gomlia sites stand witness to the times gone by. Overlooking the village is the 16th century fort Kastel. One of the higlights of the island are locals, selling home-made wine, cheese, olive oil and freshly cought fish. Olib also offers many outdoor activites for you to enjoy in, such as diving, fishing, windsurfing or discovering the island by bike.
