Preko
Preko got its name for being across (preko) Zadar, on the other side of the channel. The entire town is a monuement to Dalmatian architecture itself, having many beautiful masions built there and a 11th century chapel of Sv. Ivan. Favorite beach is the away Galevac islet, only 80m off the Preko's coast, covered in lush vegetation with the remarkable franciscian monastery in the middle. Jaz, a nearby beach is the proud bearer of the blue flag, symbolizing clean sea. Preko is also a starting point for Sv. Mihovil excursions, a fort situated on a 265m high hill above Preko offering an unforgettable sight on over 200 islands of Zadar archipelago and Kornati.
