Island of Vrgada
Vrgada was the island of major relevance in the past. Since the middle ages it has been the watch point on the Adriatic naval route. Lush pine forests cover the island, and many bays with pebble and sandy beaches make each and every swim a memorable experience. Sv. Andrija, a pre-romanesse chruch is one of the most interesting cultural sites on the island, followed by the remains of an antique castrum above the cemetery. Vrgada is, also, a very interesting destination for divers, specially its eastern coast and the nearby islets.
